It is also observed that 54% of Colombians who use the Internet, they do every day and spend on average 2.6 hours surfing.
It was established that more households are connected to the Internet, 64% of homes in cities of over 200,000 inhabitants has connection. 71% of respondents access the Internet from home and 20% in Internet cafes.
Fewer and fewer barriers to use Internet, in 2012 only 28% said they do so out of ignorance in handling a computer, while in 2010 this reason was 41%. Only 8% think that not using Internet by factors related to the cost.
Likewise, access to a computer is no longer a cause for not surf the Internet, only 7.1% of respondents expressed this difficulty.
In this second study, the data show that education gains prominence among the activities of Internet. 26% of people are connected for free courses, such as the SENA offers; 24% use to seek employment and 22% to price products. In 2012, the desktop computer is still the most widely used device to connect to the Internet. However, its use decreased by 11% compared to that recorded in 2010. Users now use the laptop (39%), smartphones (23%) and tablets (3%); the latter being the device you want to have Colombians. It is noted that e-commerce is growing. In the second half of 2012, 16% of people made purchases over the Internet, while in 2010 the figure only reached 4%. They are mostly people aged 25 to 44 living in strata 5 and 6, who perform these transactions. How Colombians are reported or fun, you are changing. 30% of respondents see movies from a computer, 15% watch movies online and 12% the download. 40% listen to the radio through the phone. (Ministerio de las TIC, 2014)
In all, some 22.5 million people accessed the Internet in the country last year, which when compared, for example, with 22 million users who have Facebook service in Colombia, shows that the surfer ' criollo 'lives attached to networks.
The list of uses that Colombians gave the Internet last year also has other striking features. For example, fewer users accessed to education or training and no advanced electronic banking in the country, according to figures from the survey. Conversely, messaging and email are used by more than half of Colombians internet access. One option online that gained acceptance in the country was the purchase of goods or services by electronic means. In 2013, 5 percent of users had this practice to access the network, while last year the figure rose to 5.6 percent. According to the report of the firm PayU Latam, the products most purchased online Colombians during 2014 were: airline tickets and hotel reservations, coupons, electronics, clothing and footwear. (Tecnósfera, 2015)
5 trends in Colombia are
1. phones are fired, but the PC is still king. People are massively adopting mobile devices. 34% of respondents access the network from a smartphone. The number doubled last year, which was 15%. Tablets also climbed: rose from 3% to 16% in just one year.
2. The streaming is about to change everything. 49% of Colombian films acquired through the purchase of physical copies. This shows the triumph of piracy in that market, but hides a growing trend: people are adopting streaming hard. 13% of respondents say they use streaming services like Netflix, and 18% say that consumed through free web platforms like Cuevana. In addition, people are using less network to download, and more to consume streaming: 37% of users play music by that means, and 34% do so with video content. Instead, downloading music fell from 50% to 39%, and the purchase of copies dropped almost five points to 49.6%.
3. The Colombians are increasingly geeks. In Colombia, news usually growth of connectivity in the lower strata. But the study shows several indicators showing that, at the other end of the socioeconomic spectrum, Colombians are increasingly geeks. First, people already have more than one connected device at the same time: the average is 2.4, and 30% say they have more than three 'gadgets' simultaneous. In addition, many Colombians have video game consoles. 24% of respondents said owning one. The most popular, according to the study, are the PlayStation 2, with 29%, and the Xbox 360, with 23%. Smart TVs also soared: increased from 5% to 10% in one year. (Jose Pañarredonda, 2014)

THE SCOPE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN COLOMBIA
As for relationships online, the survey reveals that 6 out of 10 Colombians visiting social networks. Of these, 31% have a Twitter account and 98% for Facebook. Finally the survey could establish how digital Colombians are. 33% is in the group of novice interested, 31% for advanced digital, 19% in unfamiliar, 12% are curious explorers and 6% are apathetic Internet. The survey of Digital Consumption was conducted by Ipsos Napoleon Franco with a sample of 1005 people in cities with less than 200,000 inhabitants, aged between 15 and 55, and in a period between 16 and 31 October 2012. (Ministerio de las TIC, 2014)
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and entourage social networking internet seized worldwide in recent years, also reign in Colombia. These virtual services accounted for the interest of 63.8 percent of Colombians in 2014 accessed the Internet from any location or device. This is shown by the latest survey Quality of Life Dane, who made a detailed map of the customs of the Colombians network, the devices most commonly used technology and telecommunications services more preferably between citizens. (Tecnósfera, 2015)
In recent years Colombia has seen an exponential growth in terms of number of users who are registered in the social networks. Networks like Facebook and Twitter are enjoying increasing popularity among Colombians, to the point that in Facebook, Colombia ranks 14th in the world with over 15 million users, while Bogotá is the ninth city in the world a figure close to 6.5 million.
In the case of Twitter, although the network of microblogs not reveal official data, the industry estimates that about 6 million Colombians use the popular service, which has become the favorite channel for media, political campaigns, sports , characters of Government, among others. This figure puts Colombia above the number of users on countries like France and Germany. (Ministerio de las TIC)
The popularity of social networks and applications has been achieved thanks to increased penetration of smart phones, which this year will reach 16.3 million. It is from there that most users give a "like" on Facebook, share a video on YouTube or listen to music via streaming on platforms like Spotify or Deezer.
"Colombians are very active on social networks, basically because people started to get in touch with other people who usually do not see. While networks are the perfect excuse to join and create links, "said Polkan Garcia, an expert in technology. In the country, according to calculations LR, global figures of the companies and to the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (Mintic) in Facebook, the 20 million Colombians users give more than 16,500 "likes" per minute, the six million twiteros trills over 7,000 in the same period of time, and on average are uploaded to Youtube from Colombia 5.1 hours of video every 60 seconds by the 17 million users of this network. Instagram users in these latitudes give about 850 likes per minute. As for applications Love, happn have achieved in Bogota, according to the firm, 3.1 new subscribers per minute and Tinder, Colombians come to make a match or reject 600 potential virtual partners in the same period of weather.
Data created in all these networks represent business opportunities for both large companies and small businesses. So each interaction from Colombians represents to gain insight into consumer habits and preferences, helping to develop more sophisticated and customized products by producers in the world. Internet World Stats, one of the sources Mintic says that in the world there are about 2.400 million Internet users in Colombia 49.8% of the population uses the service regularly, so Colombians are 1% of users of the world. (El Universal , 2015)
FACILITY OF THE POPULATION TO REACH DEVICES WITH INTERNET ACCESS
Last year increased the number of Colombians who have access to internet. Overall, 38 percent of households in the country have expressed network connection and of those, more than 83 percent had fixed internet service. The most significant increase was seen in the segment of mobile connections, which rose from 30 percent to 42.3 percent in a year. The device from which the majority of Colombians internet access is the desktop computer (73.9 percent), followed by laptop (31.11 percent). However, the device's participation earned last year was the cell phone, which was responsible for 28 percent of the network connections that were generated in Colombia. The tablets also increased their participation as one of the most used devices to access the Internet, but are far from the traditional smartphones or computers. (Tecnósfera, 2015)
In the area of laptops, the computer in question was Lenovo IdeaPad G470 with Intel Core i3, 4 GB of RAM processor and 500 GB hard drive. It was chosen not only as standard equipment, but because the Chinese firm has factories in three selected countries: Argentina, Mexico and Brazil. In this way, really we know if these products are more accessible in countries with local production as compared to those who only care.
The country is more accessible to get a notebook is Argentina, for little more than two minimum wages (2.09) are required to buy one. They followed Colombia (2.25), Chile (2.33), Uruguay (3.04), Brazil (2.93), Peru (3.40), Venezuela (4.26) and Mexico (4.27). It is curious to note that Argentina and Mexico are ranked first and the last place in the table when the two countries have production plants brand. Brazil, which shares this "privilege", was located in the middle of the table. There is no apparent relationship between local production and accessibility to technology. As mentioned earlier, we do not choose the nominal price of each country because it is not an index of "accessibility". But how information was collected and it took was an Excel formula to calculate, convert prices into US dollars (using the currency converter of Google) and add the value of all the teams to see which country has the dollar prices more high. To purchase a computer, tablet or smartphone you have to shell out $ 3,119 in Venezuela, the country with the highest nominal prices in the region. Behind Argentina (US $ 2,489), Uruguay (US $ 2,040), Brazil (US $ 1,952), Chile (US $ 1,673), Colombia (US $ 1,452) and Mexico (US $ 1,274) were placed. (Alejandro D'Agostino).
From removing clauses spent in cell phone contracts in Colombia a year ago, you may have noticed that now the operators do not subsidize the equipment and, therefore, Gone was the time to buy a team of range high to 200,000 pesos, but linked to a 24-month plan with a rate of 150,000 pesos per month. Conversely, if you want to buy a smartphone you have two options: buy in cash to its price in the Colombian market or buy quotas financed. As expected, many people who want the most expensive equipment and have the full money, choose to buy it in installments. Which means you will pay more money for this team, but will pay more comfortably. Here we present a guide to buying a smartphone to quotas in Colombia. Smartphones funded paid to shares can be purchased at the various operators and chain stores. Operators perform a study of credit quickly and if you have good credit history, the approval process is very fast. These periods vary between 6, 12, 18 and 24 installments. On the other hand, chain stores allow the purchase of equipment to quotas through traditional media such as credit cards of different franchises or greeting own these stores like Exito, Alkosto or CMR Falabella credit. While starting a website is not very expensive, some companies offer free web hosting, provided they are allowed to place ads on your site. These hosting companies also tend to limit the amount of content that can be stored on the website. Also, as a warning, many of these free web hosting companies can go bankrupt or stop providing free accommodation after a while.

MANAGERS OF ONLINE PAYMENTS
For the kings of online payments in Colombia, the figure is one of the best kept secrets in the world of internet in Latin America. It is known to be paid in dollars, millions, but nobody dares to venture a number. The only certainty is that in 2009 Payments Online entered to be part of the regional conglomerate called Buscapé internet. Both share a similar history: Created in 1999 by four Brazilian university, the portal comparing products and prices of items became so popular that soon began to seek new business opportunities outside the borders of the neighboring country. "We acquired a Payments Online because it fits our strategic plan: to accompany advertisers e-commerce in all its procurement cycle, from the need to advertise, showcase their products and services and means of payment processing," explains Gaston Funes commercial manager for Latin America Buscapé, who says that since the number of shops and job postings grew by 100%, "customers also now have more transactions and visits that appear in Buscapé".
Right in the days before the operation a reality, Schrimpff realized that appellant made his name. With his team was given the task to investigate and what he found left him speechless. Data transmitted for South Africa 1915 when a company called Die Nasionale Pers (The National Press Afrikaans) founded the newspaper Die Burger to legitimize the ideology of white supremacy, which eventually led to the racist apartheid regime. Over the years and the success of policies promoting the company was diversifying its investments and became a media conglomerate with an active participation in the Johannesburg Stock Exchange: first with an imprint, later in the market for pay television, and in the 90s, when the country threw away its legacy of racism, in mobile and internet. To sing with the new pace of the times, it changed its name to the acronym Naspers. (David Mayorga, 2011)

SUPPLIERS FOR SECURITY SYSTEM PLATFORMS ONLINE
Generally held companies in Colombia strives to maintain good security practices, compared to the total companies surveyed during 2013 in Latin America. "This is for example the fact that 40% of surveyed companies in Colombia classify their information assets, this number is higher than 34% of companies in Latin America. While it is above the average for the region, it is clear that there is still some way to go, "he said.
According to the company, the success of Colombia as a strong exporter of software and information technology is due to the creativity and ingenuity of the products that have been properly projected by the government in recent years. They also highlighted the work played by the MinTic and Fedesoft in promoting business and exchange of ideas. To Valcárcel, Colombia has established itself worldwide as a benchmark for technological developments with high competitiveness.
As for cybersecurity of companies in Latin America, Camilo Gutierrez Amaya, Security Researcher ESET Latin America, he said, from his study ESET Security Report 2014, Peru is the country suffered more attacks malware, as more 60% of companies surveyed said they had this problem. The search is still Nicaragua and Ecuador with about half of the companies with this problem with malware infections. In Colombia, about 38% of the companies surveyed said they had such problems during 2013.
But "trying to define what is the most vulnerable country is very complicated because it is not possible to determine the state of technology in all businesses and measure the degree of vulnerability of each and then weigh this information for the whole country" Gutierrez said.
According to information gathered during the past year and the results of the study, in terms of security incidents malware infection ranked first in terms of the most common threat in organizations in Latin America. In total 41% of the companies surveyed said they had suffered an infection with malware. As for phishing campaigns, a threat long used by attackers, affected 17% of companies surveyed in Latin America.
"Another incident exploiting vulnerabilities be reached in 15% of companies surveyed, while incidents such as DoS attacks, internal fraud or improper access to information were suffered at least 10% of companies region that participated in the survey, "said Gutierrez.
To prevent such attacks, said awareness with employees is essential, so that "to the extent that the company knows its risks, will know where to focus your efforts and will to have arguments to reach their employees. Beyond imposing political and security constraints, the most important is to explain what the threats and consequences that can bring the realization of one of these risks are, "he said.
